This Italian homemade pizza is a frequent guest at our parties and is always a huge hit!
Once you realize how easy it is to make homemade pizza and how satisfying it is to be able to control all the details (crust size, toppings exactly how you want it), takeout pizza just isn’t so appealing anymore. Nothing beats a homemade pizza. It’s so easy to make, cheaper than takeout and much tastier. Next time you want to order pizza when you have people over, try making this Italian pizza recipe instead, and we guarantee your guests will be impressed.
Servings: 2 pizzas
Dough for 2 pizzas:
Teaspoon of salt
Pinch of sugar
300ml water (luke warm)
1 pack dry yeast
Toppings per pizza:
100g Mozzarella Cheese
Mix flour, salt and sugar in a large bowl and add a drizzle of olive oil.
Pour the water in a measuring cup and sprinkle the dry yeast in the water. Stir until the yeast has dissolved.
Pour water into the mixture and whisk until a sticky dough forms
Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Place the bowl in a warm place and let is rest for 1-2 hours.
After the dough has risen, set up a floured surface, gently knead the dough and divide it into two balls. Roll out the dough to make two pizzas.
Start topping the base of the pizzas: Cover with a thin layer of tomato sauce, add some roughly chopped fresh basil on top and then cover with grated mozzarella cheese.
Now add your favourite toppings: We just added Italian sopressata salami, but feel free to add any additional toppings.
If you want a spicy kick, make some homemade hot chilli oil to drizzle on top of the baked pizza. Finely chop chilli and add to olive oil. If spicy isn’t for you, finely chop some garlic and add to olive oil for a garlic oil to serve with the baked pizza.
